Counseling is one of important activities in drug addict’s rehabilitation, and interpersonal trust is needed in it. Untrustworthy of counseling is caused by lack of empathy in it. Emphatic counselors make clients feel understood, trusted and helped by them. Client’s untrustworthy make the counseling process is not going so well because client won’t be open to his/her counselor. “Empati Plus” program is given for building client’s trust to counselor so client-counselor’s relationship may goes well and effective. Subjects in this research are 6 social workers who work as counselors in drug addict’s rehabilitation. Observation of counseling process and interpersonal trust’s scale is used to know the effect of “Empati Plus” program. Improvement has shown in emphatic counseling skill on counselor and it is followed by improvement of client’s interpersonal trust to counselor.
