Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan visualisasi atau penggambaran konflik dalam sinetron Indonesia melalui bagian adegan yang disebut dengan action. Selain itu penelitian ini juga mengungkap bagaimana sinetron mengelola dan menyajikan action konflik sebagai sebuah tampilan pertunjukan di televisi. Sebagai bagian yang penting dari cerita atau drama, konflik tidak bisa nampak secara nyata jika tidak diwujudkan dalam action. Untuk mengungkapkan konflik, sebelumnya diuraikan unsur-unsur konflik berupa motivasi dan tujuan. Dari kedua unsur itu tampaklah tema-tema konflik yang muncul dalam sinetron. Bagaimana action yang dipilih sinetron untuk mewujudkan konfliknya merupakan hal menarik yang bisa diungkap dari konflik sinetron, karena pilihan action tersebut bisa menjadi referensi bagi pemirsa untuk menyelesaikan konflik-konflik dalam kehidupannya. Selain itu, pengamatan terhadap kecenderungan pengelolaan adegan action konflik secara artistik dan teknik merupakan sebuah upaya untuk memaknai fenomena drama televisi ini. Sinetron memang lebih banyak menampilkan motivasi dan tujuan negatif dalam konfliknya, tetapi motivasi dan tujuan positif juga masih ditampilkan. Tema perebutan (harta, kekuasaan, kekasih) merupakan tema yang paling banyak muncul. Namun action keras yang mengarah ke sadisme fisik hampir tidak muncul sebaliknya action yang tidak menyakiti secara fisik yang paling banyak ditampilkan. Adegan action konflik yang cenderung lebih memakai bahasa verbal daripada visual dengan action marah yang berlebihan serta penggunaan lensa kamera zoom in diiringi ilustrasi musik/efek secara berulang-ulang merupakan kecenderungan pengelolaan action konflik dalam sinetron.

This study aims to reveal the visualization representation or the conflict depiction in Indonesian sinetron (television soap opera) through a scene called the action. In addition, this study also reveals how sinetron manages and presents conflict action as a performance on television show. As a major part of a story or drama, conflict could not appear significantly if not presented in an action scene. To disclose conflict, it is necessary to expound the elements of conflict, which are motivation and goal. From those two elements, the conflict themes on the sinetron could be recognized. How a selected action from a sinetron creating its conflict is an interesting part to be analyzed from the conflict itself, because a particular action could be a reference for the audiences to cope with their conflict in real life. Apart from that, a thorough observation of trends on the management of the conflict action scene artistically and technically is an attempt to comprehend the phenomenon of this television drama. Sinetron often present negative motivation and goal in their conflicts, however, the positive motivation and goal are also still presented. The themes of struggle for (wealth, power, and love) still appear most often. But, hard action leads to physical sadism are hardly shown up, on the contrary, the action that is physical harmless shows up more often. Conflict action scene tends to use verbal language more than visual one with excessive anger actions and the use of zoom-in camera accompanied by repeated music/effect illustration is a tendency of conflict action management in sinetron.
