This study aims to find out the effectiveness of the Yogyakarta traditional games as to improve social interaction skills of primary school children with difficulties interacting socially. Yogyakarta traditional games packed in form of training and referred to as Social Interaction Skills Training. Subject in this research is student grade 3 and grade 4 elementary schools that had difficulty interact. Number of subject in this research is 22 pupils who came from three public primary schools in the region of Yogyakarta. The subject is divided in two groups of 11 children in the experimental group and 11 children in the control group. Difficulty interacting was detected using Social Interaction Skills Scale whichwas completed by the class teacher, supported by interviews with classroom teachers, and observations of the subject in class. Experimental design used was the Pre-test Post-test Control Group Design with the Anava Mixed Design used as method of data analysis. Research instruments used in the pre-test, post-test, and follow-up was the Social Interaction Skills Scale developed by the researchers. Yogyakarta traditional games used were Jamuran, Dhingklik Oglak-Aglik, and Gobag Sodor. Results of research shows there are differences in the level of social interaction skills in the experimental group compared to control groups who did not receive treatment, with the significance grade of 0,000 (p <0,05). This proves that the intervention applied is quite effective to increase social interaction skills of primary school children with difficulties interacting, and provide effective contribution of 47.2% of the increased social interaction skills.
