Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara ekspor, foreign direct investment (FDI) dan pertumbuhan ekonomi di Maluku periode 1971-2007. Pola hubungan antara ketiganya menjadi penting, mengingat bahwa Maluku setelah keterpurukan ekonominya karena krisis berusaha bangkit untuk mencapai tingkat pertumbuhan ekonomi yang optimal. Teknik analisa yang digunakan dalam tesis ini adalah dengan menggunakan ekonometrika. Secara lebih terinci, teknik yang digunakan adalah dengan Vector autoregression (VAR) atau Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) untuk melihat hubungan jangka pendek dan jangka panjangnya dan Granger Causality untuk melihat hubungan sebab akibatnya. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa hubungan yang terjadi antara ekspor, FDI dan pertumbuhan ekonomi adalah hubungan dua arah antara ekspor dengan pertumbuhan ekonomi, dimana kedua veariabel tersebut saling mempengaruhi (export led growth-ELG and growth driven export-GDE). Selanjutnya hubungan antara pertumbuhan ekonomi dengan FDI yaitu pertumbuhan ekonomi mempengaruhi FDI tapi FDI tidak mempengaruhi pertumbuhan ekonomi, dan terahir hubungan antara ekspor dengan FDI yaitu bersifat komplementer.

This study investigates the relationship among exports, foreign direct investments (FDI) and economic growth, in Moluccas. The relationship among that variables is very important, because Moluccas getting start to optimize the growth economic arising out of crisis. Econometrics technique analysis then a trivariate autoregressive vector model (VAR) or vector auttoregression mechanism (VECM) and Granger causality is used to estimate the short and long run relationship of these variables of this model. The purpose of this research using time series data for the period 1971 to 2007, and applying the co-integration analysis as suggested by Johansen. The finally results of this study findings the relationship among export, FDI and economic growth is bedirect relationship between export and economic growth (ELG-GDE) And one way relationship between FDI with economic growth have influence (positive impact) on FDI but FDI did not positive impact to economic growth. Furthermore the relationship between export and foreign direct investments (FDI) that is the complementary.
