Sistem Informasi Akademik Berbasis SMS pada Program Pasca Sarjana Ilmu Komputer telah dirancang dengan mengimlepmentasikan software SMS Gateway dan software Visual basic 6.0 serta telah diuji coba. Sistem ini memungkinkan mahasiswa mengakses informasi akademik melalui ponsel berdasarkan identitas mahasiswa. Sistem Informasi ini mempunyai kemampuan untuk memberikan informasi dari basis data, melakukan proses pendaftaran matakuliah, akses nilai bagi mahasiswa. Bagi pengguna system dapat mengirim pengumuman secara cepat pada mahasiswa atau dosen. Informasi disajikan dalam bentuk SMS yang diterima oleh pemakai berdasarkan query identitas dan keyword yang dikirimkan oleh pemakai ke sistem informasi ini.

SMS-based Academic Information System on Computer Science Postgraduate Program has been designated by implementation SMS Gateway software and Visual Basic 6.0 software and they have been tested. This system allows students to access academic information through a hand-phone based on student’s identity. This information system owns to provide information from database, performs lectures registration process, and grade access for students. System users able to send rapidly announcement to students or lecturers. The information system is presented in the from of SMS which to be accepted by the users on the basis of identity query and keyword submitted by user to this information system.
