Pengaruh suplementasi besi folat, zink, dan Vitamin A terhadap kesegaran jasmani anak SD Kelas IV-VI yang stunted di Kecamatan Imogiri Kabupaten Bantul Yogyakarta

Latar Belakang : Individu yang kurang gizi, khususnya anemia defisiensi besi mempunyai kemampuan bekerja yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan yang cukup gizi. Kebanyakan siswa SD mempunyai tingkat kesegaran jasmani yang sedang dan kurang. Hasil penelitian menyebutkan bahwa rata-rata peningkatan Hb dan VO2 maks kelompok yang diberi suplemen Fe lebih baik diabndingkan dengan plasebo. Tujuan Penelitian : Penelitian ini untuk menguji pengaruh suplementasi Fe, Vitamin A and Zn terhadap kesegaran jasmani. Rancangan Penelitian : Penelitian eksperimen murni dengan rancangan Randomized Controlled Trial. Subyek penelitian dibagi dalam 4 kelompok suplementasi, yaitu Fe, Fe + Zn, Fe + vitamin A, dan Fe + Zn + vitamin A, dengan dosis Fe glukonat 20 mg + asam folat 0,1 mg, Zink 20 mg, dan vitamin A 5000 SI. Alokasi perlakuan secara triple blinded. Suplementasi selama 12 minggu dengan pemberian 2 kali perminggu. Kesegaran jasmani diukur pada saat sebelum, pertengahan, dan sesudah suplementasi. Sedangkan kadar Hb, feritin, retinol, dan Zn plasma diukur sebelum dan sesudah suplementasi. Data tentang asupan gizi dan aktivitas fisik di luar jam olah raga juga dikumpulkan. Hasil : Rata-rata tingkat kesegaran jasmani meningkat pada semua kelompok suplementasi, tetapi tidak bermakna. Kelompok suplementasi Fe folat + Zn rata-rata peningkatannya paling tinggi. Dibandingkan dengan kelompok plasebo (suplementasi Fe), kelompok suplementasi Fe + Zn 3,653 lebih tinggi; kelompok suplementasi Fe + vit A + Zn 0,115 lebih rendah; dan kelompok suplementasi Fe + vitamin A 0,692 lebih tinggi kenaikan nilai T totalnya. Kesimpulan : Suplementasi Fe folat + Zink lebih baik dalam meningkatkan kesegaran jasmani siswa SD kelas IV-VI yang stunted daripada suplementasi Fe + vitamin A + Zink; Fe + vitamin A; dan Fe saja.

Background : The anemic iron deficiency affect physical fitness. Many student was found have physical fitness level that moderate and low. Research reported that an average of increased haemoglobin and VO2 max at the Fe supplementation group was higher than placebo group. Research objective : this study was conducted to examine the effect of Fe, Vitamin A and Zn supplementation on physical fitness. Study design : The study was triple blind positive placebo randomized controlled trial. The subjects consist of 157 students that devided into four group. The first group (n = 39) received Fe supplementation (placebo). The second group (n = 38) received Fe + vitamin A supplementation. The third group received Fe + Zn supplementation. And the fourth group received Fe + vitamin A + Zn supplementation. The supplementation delivered twice a week within twelve weeks. Physical fitness measured three times at the start, middle, and the end of supplementation. Concentration of haemoglobin, ferritin, retinol, and zinc plasma measeured at the start and the end of supplementation period. Data about food intake and physical activity was collected too. Result : An average of physical fitness level increased at the all of supplementation group, but not significantly. The Fe + Zn supplementation given most increased. T-total value (level of physical fitness), The group received Fe + Zn had 3,653 higher; the group received Fe + vit A + Zn had 0,115 lower, and the group received Fe + vitamin A had 0,692 higher than the placebo group (received Fe supplementation). Conclusion : Fe + Zn supplementation better than Fe + vitamin A + Zn supplementation; Fe + vitamin A supplementation; and Fe alone supplementation to physical fitness increase in the students IV-VIth class of elementary school that stunted.
